Using this tool

Start with the correct unit family

Choose a measurement category, select the starting and destination units, then enter a value. UnitFlow updates the converted result immediately.

Reading the output

Precision should match the input

Worked example

Kilograms and temperature

Ten kilograms is approximately 22.046 pounds. For temperature, 20°C equals 68°F because temperature conversion includes an offset as well as a scale.

Calculation

Scale factors and offsets

Most length and mass conversions multiply through a shared base unit. Temperature uses °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32 and °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9.

Limitations

Watch for ambiguous unit names

  • Keep extra decimals during calculation and round only the final result.
  • Confirm whether a recipe uses fluid ounces or weight ounces.
  • For regulated or engineering work, use the precision required by the applicable standard.

Before relying on the result

Temperature and decimal places

Why is temperature conversion different?

Celsius and Fahrenheit have different zero points, so the formula needs both multiplication and an offset.

How many decimals should I keep?

That depends on the input accuracy. Avoid reporting more precision than the original measurement supports.
