Buffered trip estimate
41.07Using this tool
Enter the trip distance, your vehicle’s fuel efficiency and the current fuel price. Add tolls and passenger count to estimate both the full journey and each person’s share.
Reading the output
A 300 km trip in a car using 7.5 L/100 km needs about 22.5 litres. At $1.20 per litre, fuel costs $27 before tolls.
Metric fuel used = distance × L/100 km ÷ 100. Imperial fuel used = miles ÷ MPG. Total cost = fuel used × price + tolls.
Before relying on the result
Enter the total distance you expect to drive. Double a one-way distance for a return trip.
Traffic, driving style, vehicle load, weather and changing fuel prices all affect the final amount.
