Using this tool
Choose a compression level and process the PDF locally. PDFShrink renders each page as a compressed image, which is effective for scans and image-heavy documents but removes selectable text, links and interactive form fields.
Reading the output
A scanned assignment made from high-resolution phone photos can often become much smaller at Balanced quality while remaining clear enough to read on screen.
Each page is rendered at a controlled resolution, encoded as JPEG and placed into a new PDF. Stronger settings use fewer pixels and lower image quality.
Before relying on the result
PDFShrink compresses by turning each page into an image. This is disclosed before processing and works best for scanned documents.
No. PDFs that are already optimized or mostly text can stay similar in size or occasionally become larger.
